Now we're getting somewhere. I like the many-heads-on-a-page approach. Maybe I'll do some more of these.

What's so interesting on the left?

I recently noticed how many of my sketches had faces that were oriented toward the left. What's so interesting over there?....nothing. So I will work on a more even distribution, and maybe even more that are not so blatantly one direction or the other. Maybe to the corners or something, who knows.

Went to my first ECCC today, and got to talk to Brett Bean, Vinod Rams, Emily Fiegenschuh and Doug Williams (and also this one). Great time. They are all fantastic artists and were the highlight for me. Had to come home and sketch a little.

Overlayed a gradient in photoshop, and erased the body portion. Then added a light overlay to try to model a little.

Result of 4AM Club #HOVD

 

These pieces were worked on as part of the 4AM Club as set forth by Nate Simpson. The sketches had already been completed, but the coloring was done today. I also worked some other pieces as well, and posted them on my artblog. I will try to be a part of this on Saturday mornings, so we will see how it goes! I usually try to sketch some normally at night anyway so I may have things done during the week that I can try to finish up more during this time.

Found this Hawk in the book "Animal". It is called a Goshawk. Go ahead, move the "s" and it is Go Hawks. Seriously.
