Sketch progress for Mignola-style piece

Thought I'd post the sketch steps for a Mignola-style art piece I'm working on in Photoshop

The first is two sketches that I thought I might combine for the composition.

Step 2 is adding a neutral background close to the background from the pictures and erasing around each piece.

Step 3 is the line art I drew on a separate layer over the scans.

Step 4 is the line art layer over the sketches.

Here is the result so far with some color added:
